Low contrast testing is a useful tool in early diagnosis and accurate recordings of vision degeneration and disease. Contrast sensitivity testing helps to identify signs of glaucoma, cataracts, and glare sensitivity. By using a Tumbling "E" format, patients that are illiterate or not familiar with Roman letters can be tested. This allows for a larger patient population to be tested for contrast sensitivity.
