Contrast sensitivity testing after surgical procedures such as LASIK, is a necessity. Although acuity testing helps surgeons understand how sharp the patient's sight has become, contrast sensitivity helps them to understand how the patient will negotiate everyday scenarios. By testing contrast vision in these types of patients, the full range of sight is taken into consideration and more in depth findings are recorded.
