This ETDRS® Folding Chart is meant for 3 Meter Testing and can be hand-held or wall-mounted. It folds in half making it very convenient to transport.
The two islands on either side reduce memorization when testing OD, OS, and OU (Oculus Dexter, Oculus Sinister and Oculus Uterque).
Patti Pics optotypes are among the many picture-like symbols for testing children, however, Patti Pics is the only pediatric eye chart that has been designed explicitly to equal Sloan letters as used in ETDRS® charts. Patti Pics are recognizable to children and help keep their attention during testing.
Developed in 1976, Tumbling E charts were intended for testing illiterate patients and those not familiar with the Roman Alphabet. The Tumbling E vision tests are considered highly useful for testing foveal vision and have a high visual acuity threshold. The construction of the letter E is similar and gives the effect of gratings. The Tumbling E chart is also useful for detecting signs of Astigmatism.
Landolt C charts are considered the gold standard of alternative eye charts since 1988. The chart was developed as an alternative to Snellen chart optotypes, which were not equally difficult. Each chart features only one carefully calibrated optotype placed in eight different positions (also commonly referred to as an 8-Directional position). The C used in the chart creates equality throughout testing, giving the patient optimal opportunity. Patients must gesture or say which direction the C is facing, making testing simple and accurate.
Constructed with the same precision, accuracy, and methodology as traditional ETDRS® charts. Lines are of equal difficulty. Geometric progression in letter size from line to line. Letter size is only variable.
