Precision Vision® Partners with Philanthropic Clinics and Expands Digital Software Talents

Spotlight: The Good Samaritan Health Center Atlanta

Precision Vision® continues its role as a proud global manufacturer of standardized visual testing products and backlit ETDRS cabinets. We believe that professional tools achieve their highest value when backed by dedicated practitioners serving vulnerable communities. A premier example is the remarkable operational track record of the **Good Samaritan Health Center (“Good Sam”)** in Atlanta, Georgia.

Founded as a non-profit medical ministry by pediatrician Dr. Bill Warren in 1998, the clinic opened its doors in 1999 with just eight staff members and a handful of baseline volunteers. Good Sam has expanded rapidly to meet the city's deepest healthcare disparities, managing high patient volumes that exceeded 17,500 comprehensive visits annually.

Volunteer Spotlight: The center honored volunteer optometrist **Dr. Barry Schirack** for his outstanding service. For more than three years, Dr. Schirack has dedicated his day off every six to eight weeks to manage the clinic's eye care lanes. Utilizing his fluent Spanish language skills, he delivers vital monocular refractions and health screenings to a diverse immigrant population. Dr. Schirack notes that Good Sam’s multi-disciplinary framework—housing medical, dental, and psychological care under a single roof—provides a collaborative environment to help patients regain their functional autonomy.

The Good Samaritan Health Center actively seeks **volunteer Optometrists and Ophthalmologists** to expand its diagnostic capabilities. Serving these populations allows eye care professionals to practice pure medicine free from the bureaucratic friction of managed care networks or exhausting insurance documentation tracking. The center offers highly flexible scheduling tailored to accommodate full-time private practice constraints.

Volunteer Coordination Desk: Contact Coordinator Delise White at **(404) 523-6571 ext. 257** or via email at delise@goodsamatlanta.org to schedule a formal facility tour.

PRODUCT PROFILE

PVVAT™ Computerized Visual Acuity Software – Version 2.3

Precision Vision® continues to drive the future of digital optometric lane testing with the official release of **PVVAT™ Version 2.3**. Developed in close synchronization with our software partner, **EyeMotion**, this release drastically elevates interactive chart configuration and customization settings, bringing comprehensive diagnostics straight to your existing monitor arrays.

Core Software Enhancements:
  • Integrated Patient Education Modules: Direct access to dynamic anatomical and pathology videos via your remote control handset to streamline chair-side consults.
  • Advanced Contrast Sensitivity Controls: Rapid inverse color toggle execution across calibrated Amsler Grid diagnostic panels.
  • Red/Blue Butterfly Stereo Chart: High-accuracy binocular depth perception and stereopsis verification built straight into the software engine.
  • Expanded Color Vision Arrays: Upgraded pseudoisochromatic color test suite featuring an expanded volume of randomized diagnostic plate sets.
  • Interactive Fixation Point Targets: Fun pediatric target options (including solid white and dynamically color-changing dots) to maximize fixation stability.

By unifying 9 distinct optotype families—including certified **Sloan Letters, Snellen lines, HOTV arrays, Tumbling Es, and our proprietary Patti Pics™ pediatric symbols**—the PVVAT™ system addresses your entire patient demographic within a single, bundled digital tool. The system supports multiple presentation styles, ranging from multi-line logMAR ETDRS charts to single-character configurations with toggleable crowding bars. Version 2.3 is currently available for direct deployment on Mac hardware platforms, with the PC-compatible edition launching soon.
