To engage families natively, OPSM partnered with Precision Vision to supply the foundational visual metrics for this project. “When Luxottica's creative agency approached us, we were extremely interested in participating in such a broad, structurally sound screening concept,” stated Ed Kopidlansky, President of Precision Vision.
The resulting asset, Penny the Pirate, is a beautifully illustrated children's storybook that seamlessly integrates distance vision tracking elements directly into its narrative arc. Our scientifically recognized Patti Pics® symbols were chosen to provide an objective initial indication of whether a child requires a comprehensive examination by a qualified professional.
Following widespread regional distribution, OPSM reports that the campaign has successfully identified refractive errors and binocular vision status issues in thousands of children whose conditions had previously slipped through traditional oversight channels undetected.
