Decades ago, the National Eye Institute’s landmark Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study (ETDRS) required an entirely new, highly regulated physical testing method to replace erratic traditional charts. Precision Vision was single-handedly relied upon to engineer the first commercially viable, trans-illuminated optotype charts and standardized cabinets for that historical study.
The resulting combination—merging the geometric parameters of the Bailey-Lovie Eye Chart layout with the structural proportions of Dr. Louise Sloan's nonserif optotypes—breathed life into the exact logMAR framework recognized globally today as the absolute "Gold Standard."
While raw raw compounds and technical electrical components have evolved across generations, our manufacturing parameters remain unyielding.
