Tumbling E Series ETDRS®

The Tumbling E Series ETDRS® chart family — Chart 1, Chart 2, Chart 3, or the full Set of 3 — using the Tumbling E optotype across the four standard ETDRS testing distances (2 m, 2.5 m, 3 m, 4 m).

Tumbling E removes any literacy requirement: patients indicate the direction in which the E "points" (up, down, left, right). Equally suited to children, non-readers, and patients tested in any language. Use Charts 1, 2, and 3 in rotation as alternate forms.
